Publishing house deploys standardized publishing platform to nine markets redefining content creation to lead the evolving digital arena

vjoon, a leader in cross-media publishing software, announced today that Condé Nast International opted for vjoon K4® as its publishing platform redefining content creation for the future of publishing. vjoon K4 bested international competition in a multistage tendering process, one of its strongest selling points being its efficient workflow management capability for multichannel publishing.
vjoon integration partner Managing Editor Inc. (MEI) was tasked to manage the global delivery of vjoon K4, train local teams, and provide IT support. Condé Nast International is installing vjoon K4 in nine markets, while an arrangement with Adobe for digital asset management (DAM) through the adoption of Adobe® Experience Manager, is handling publishing assets in 11 wholly owned Condé Nast International markets to harmonize its international IT system.
“Our multi-platform publishing strategy required a transformation in the management of Condé Nast content across the company‘s multiple geographic regions. We reviewed our options closely and realized that vjoon K4 is ideal for our purposes. We needed to introduce workflow management that would integrate with the systems we already had in place, which made vjoon K4 the best choice for us,“ says Malcom Simms, CTO of Condé Nast International in London. “What’s more, the combination of vjoon K4 and MEI’s top-notch service and considerable experience managing large projects was perfect for the global rollout we had in mind.”
To date, this deployment has enabled the Wired UK digital replica edition to debut on mobile with the December 2013 issue, to be followed in Britain by GQ and Vanity Fair for smartphones. The November 2013 issue onwards of GQ Taiwan, the October issue onwards of Vogue China and the weekly title Vanity Fair Italy are already produced entirely utilizing vjoon K4, joining six other titles across Italy, Britain and China published successfully in this way since March 2013. By the end of 2013, a third of all editorial pages produced by Condé Nast International wholly owned titles will be created using the cross-media publishing solution vjoon K4. In 2014 a further 21 titles in Britain, Italy, China, Taiwan and Spain will benefit from the new technology, and by 2015 all magazine content, irrespective of platform, in Taiwan, France, Spain, Japan, Mexico and India will also be on board.
